Prepare supplies.

1. You will need four fat quarters.

Hint: For the Layer Cake look, choose three cake inspired prints and one textured yellow.

Create basket pieces.

1. From three cake inspired prints, cut 2 pieces measuring 4 ½” x 13 ½” (11.4 x 34.3 cm).

2. From cupcake print, cut a circle with an 8 ½” (21.6 cm) diameter.

3. Adhere fusible fleece to the back of all 7 of these pieces, per packaging instructions.

4. Cut out from yellow textured fabric:
• 2 pieces measuring 6 ¼” x 13 ½” (16 x 34.3 cm)
• A circle with an 8 ½” (21.6 cm) diameter

Assemble basket.

Hint: For this project, use a ¼” (0.5 cm) seam allowance.

1. Piece fleecy cake prints with right sides facing, along long edges as shown.

2. Sew joined strips together along short sides, creating a tube.

3. Repeat for textured yellow fabric by sewing short sides of rectangle pieces together, creating a tube.

4. Join each of the tubes to the matching circle, with right sides facing, leaving a 3” (7.6 cm) gap around the bottom of the cupcake tube.

Hint: For more detailed steps for joining a tube with a circle, see Pumpkin Treat Basketproject.

5. Attach both pieces at opening with right sides facing along open edge.

6. Pull basket right side out through gap in the bottom.

7. Press, and hand stitch opening shut.
